the People
We make wine, in the heart of Barolo. Our vineyards are exclusively in Monforte d’Alba. Our name is actually composed of two names: Conterno Fantino, the last names of our two families.
In 1982, Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino joined forces to bring one single winery to life. Alongside Guido stands his wife Alda, Claudio’s cousin; she is the one who interwove the fabric of two families that esteem each other and have grown. Today, their children also work in the winery: Noemi and Matteo Conterno, Elisa and Fabio Fantino.

But the members of our family aren’t the only people here: there are the people who work with us, some of them since the very start, others only recently; we are thankful to all of them for their commitment and passion, which is something more than just putting in a day’s work. Then, there are our clients, the ones who, with every bottle, give us confidence, confirmation, and satisfaction. And lastly, there are our friends, the lifeblood of the world around us.
Today, our history is over forty years long. We are grateful for the daily toil, for the land, for the tenacity of our people. And for the authors of the Langhe: Beppe Fenoglio and Cesare Pavese have recounted these hills; from them, we have learned how to express who we are.
