the Barolo

Barolo is the wine that has made our history and that of the Langhe. A red wine that is beloved all over the world. It stems from a long tradition but also from the choices and enthusiasm of young producers during the last decades of the 20th century. We tend the vineyards that produce our four Barolo crus, two of which are at Ginestra, which, to us, is home: Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra, Ginestra Vigna del Gris, Mosconi Vigna Ped, Castelletto Vigna Pressenda.

We search for the elegance, the fruit, and the beauty of things which, even if you can’t exactly put your finger on why you like them, you like them a lot. To the very last sip.

1982 was the first Barolo harvest that Conterno Fantino bottled. If only we still had a few of those bottles… We would have liked to offer you a tool for choosing the best years – we wanted to publish a list with evaluations of all the vintages – but we couldn’t agree on them. Each one of us has a different love, a memory, a sip that makes us smile, a thought… Create your own wine cellar; for each bottle you open, set another one aside. Time will narrate the story of each vintage. Our work, every year, is to make wine that knows how to say something that is worth listening to.
